Beginner · French A2

From surviving to getting things done.

Handle routine life on your own: appointments, housing, small talk at work and short emails. A2 is where French starts working for you day to day.

  • 200+ students taught
  • Max. 10 per class
  • Live and recorded
Who this is for

Built for people with a reason to learn.

Our strongest results come from students who needed French for something real. If that's you, you're in the right place.

This is for you if

  • You've finished A1 or can handle basic introductions
  • You want to deal with daily life without switching to English
  • You're preparing for a move in the next year
  • You've plateaued after apps or a first course

It's probably not for you if

  • You're a complete beginner (start with A0 or A1)
  • You already hold work conversations comfortably (see B1 and B2)
Where A2 takes you

By the end of A2, you'll be able to

Each level is the foundation for the next. Nothing you learn is wasted.

  • Talk about your past, your routine and your plans
  • Book appointments, rent a flat, deal with shops and services
  • Understand everyday announcements and short conversations
  • Write messages and simple emails to landlords, schools or colleagues
  • Keep a conversation going on familiar topics
The Geneva Method

A system, not a collection of lessons.

Here's what that means, using one sentence you'll need in your first week abroad.

JeIvoudraiswould like (the polite form)un café,anything you needs'il vous plaît.please

One pattern, not one phrase. Learn Je voudrais + anything once and you can use it at the café, the bank and the town hall.

Why most people stall

It's not you. It's the method.

Language apps

Streaks, not speaking.

You collect words but can't build a sentence when someone actually talks to you.

Random lessons

No path.

Every class covers something new, nothing connects, and you never know if you're progressing.

Studying alone

No one to speak to.

Grammar books explain the rules. They can't correct you or make you say it out loud.

What works is structure, real practice and someone telling you exactly what to fix next.

How it works

Your week, made simple.

10 peopleSmall enough that everyone speaks in every class.
Live onlineReal classes with a teacher, not pre-recorded videos.
RecordedEvery class is recorded, so a missed session doesn't set you back.
CEFR-alignedThe same scale used by DELF, DALF and employers.

Questions

Before you decide.

When does the next cohort start?

We open new cohorts as soon as a group is ready. People on the waitlist hear first and get priority places.

How do I know A2 is my level?

Join the free masterclass or write to us with a short description of what you can already do. We'll tell you honestly which level fits.

Are the classes live?

Yes. Classes are live online in groups of maximum 10, and every class is recorded so you can catch up.

Will I get an official certificate?

You'll receive a certificate of completion from Geneva Institute. It isn't an official DELF/DALF diploma, but the programme follows the same CEFR levels, so it prepares you for them.
